War-date Confederate soldier's Autograph Letter Signed by Thomas W.G. Inglett, Company C, 28th Georgia Vols, WIA at Cold Harbor and Darbytown Road, 2pp. octavo, James Island, South Carolina, October 18, 1863, and reads in part: "...I have been down on picket two days and nights. I got to camp yesterday. The yanks took three pops at us with a sixty four pounder but they did not hurt a man. We stand in sight of each other and there is a road all the way to them some of the boys talked to the Yankees. I had Henry Dennis and T.N. Ross on my post...the boys caught opossum and we had a barbecue of him...when the election for justice of the peace comes on you must run me if you can get me elected I can get out of the war..."
