Book "The Acts of the Apostles" ID'd in ink by "James E. Tucker Co. K, 2nd Va. Cavalry Fitz Lee's Division Army No. Va. 1863." Good condition. James Ellis Tucker (1844-1924) enlisted as an 18 year old student into Company K, 2nd Virginia Cavalry, in January 1863, after running the blockade while returning from schooling in Europe. He was wounded in the leg while serving as color bearer at Aldie, Virginia, June 17, 1863, had a horse killed from under him at Spotsylvania Court House, was wounded December 15, 1864, with a saber cut to his right shoulder, and later hospitalized for another wound received at Charlottesville, Virginia in February 1865.
