VANCE, Zebulon Baird (1830-1894) was a Confederate military officer in the American Civil War, the 37th and 43rd Governor of North Carolina, and U.S. Senator. A prodigious writer, Vance became one of the most influential Southern leaders of the Civil War and postbellum periods. Confederate bond issue by the State of North Carolina, signed by ZEBULON VANCE and JONATHAN WORTH, January 1, 1863, with several attached coupons signed by WH Dodd. Fine condition. Jonathan Worth (1802-1869) was the 39th Governor of the U.S. state of North Carolina from 1865 to 1868, during the early years of Reconstruction.
