Group of war-date Union soldier's letters by Aaron Harber, who enlisted as a private in 1862 into the 105th Ohio Infantry, he transferred to the Veteran Reserve Corps in January 1865. This group is five war-date by him and two family letters, in small part: "...[11/28/64]as for the captain being no man is false. For he knows his place and knows when to pitch in, you dont know what he would do if he had a chance. When he was at home the general that commanded the fort of deposit would not fight. He said that he would not fight for nine months more and the captain is too much of a man to pitch unless all hands are willing...As for charging the Dutch fort I would be a little like the nigger it would be a damn nasty job...the young man that charges on her fort had better tie a bundle of oats on his back so that the chickens could scratch him out again...I don't like to have my captain called a coward..." Overall very good condition.
