Register includes list of officers by rank in the different units, casualties, cadets at the Military academy, rate of pay for officers, and much more. Lists the resignation of many important Confederate generals and officers, including General Robert E. Lee, Gen. Joseph E. Johnston, Samuel Cooper, William Loring, Ben Huger, Kirby Smith, Robert Garnett, Earl Van Dorn, George Pickett, and many others. Also lists the dismissal of General Twiggs and includes a listing for the death of Nathaniel Lyon. VG. Philip Halsey Remington (c.1840-1891) Graduated from West Point 1861, and served with the Army until 1891.
