War-date Union soldier's Autograph Letter Signed by Henry A. Wiley, 104th New York Vols, 4pp. octavo, Near White Oak Church, Virginia, June 9, 1863, and reads in part: "...A part of the Sixth Corps is across the river and are throwing up rifle pits. They crossed on pontoons last Thursday about two miles below the city and at the same place that our Corps crossed on the 12 of December last. Twice during the last week we have broken camp and been in line ready and expecting to move, after remaining in line all the fore noon the order was countermanded for that day....The Sixth Corps captured a hundred or more prisoners when they crossed. We were relieved from picket yesterday and came back to our old camp. Our corps has not moved since we come back from Chancellorsville. Yet me may move any day and most certainly shall if the rebels evacuate the heights. The news from the southwest is not so favorable as at first yet I am of the opinion that all will turn out right in a few days..." Very good condition.
