War-date Union soldier's Autograph Letter Signed by Henry A. Wiley, 104th New York Vols, 4pp. octavo, pencil, Near White Oak Church, June 4, 1863, and reads in part: "..I am not able to say in what direction we are to go. Artillery was moving all night and some say that it went down to the river which is about two miles distant. Others say that we are going up to Bealton Station which is on the Alexandria and Orange RR. Yet I can not tell whether it is so or not....Our army is in excellent spirits and ready and anxious to meet the Johnny Rebs as the boys call them. I am writing this while the regiment is in line and expecting to move at a moments notice. No cannonading has yet been heard...do not feel alarmed should you see any reports of killed or wounded in our Regt...." Very good condition.
