Group of four war-date Union soldier’s Autograph Letters Signed by Marshal P. Woods, 9th New Hampshire Infantry, immediately after his enlistment into the Federal forces on behalf of Abraham Lincoln and the Union cause, addressed to his wife, they read in part: “...This is the best Regiment that ever was got up. They have taken a great deal of pains to get the best men...I expect to go as a drummer...I can get a new drum for 7 dollars. I have bought a revolver that I paid 18 dollars for, it is a six shooter and it is a splendid thing. I could have got a cheaper one, but I thought if I had no other weapon that I had better have a sure one...” and more. Very good condition.
