War-date Union imprint being General Orders No. 64, issued from the Headquarters of the District of Florida, Jacksonville, October 31, 1864, 1pp. octavo, by order of Brig General Hatch and reads in part: “...Traders ar allowed to sell goods in this District as a military necessity only. To prevent abuse of the privilege of purchasing, traders will keep a record which shall show date of sale, name of purchaser and value of purchase...The sale of goods to citizens at other points than Jacksonville, Fernandina, and St. Augustine is prohibited...” Signed by the ADC. Fine condition.
