Pair of War-date Manuscript Documents Signed, "S.K. Prince Lt. A.A.A.G." , includes: Circular, 1pp. quarto, Head Quarters 2 Brigade, 3 Div., 2 A.C., January 9, 1865, and reads "For the purpose of Review's and Brigade Dress parades the Drum Corps of the Brigade will be consolidated. They will meet for practice tomorrow morning at 9 1/2 oclock in the open field in front of the Brigade reporting to Capt Shook [5th Michigan WIA Wilderness] Act'g Brigade Inspector will designate the principal musicians to superintend the practice..." VG...plus; "General Order No. 9" 1-1/2pp. folio, Head Quarters 3 Div. 2 C, January 16, 1865, and reads in part: "...The Division will be reviewed by the Major General Comdg. the Corps tomorrow the 17th inst. commencing at 1 PM, with the 1st Brigade. The review will be by Brigade on the respective Brigade parade grounds. The formation to be as the Brigade Commander, think the ground best adapted. The troops will be in heavy marching order and if they day is pleasant overcoats will be rolled on the top of the knapsacks. All officers will salute the reviewing officer when they arrive within six paces of him, and recover their swords, when six paces past him. All officers in saluting will cast their eyes toward the Reviewing officer..." More. VG. (2 items)
