A nice Civil War unit history entitled: "History and Honorable Roll of the Twelfth Regiment, Infantry, N. G. S. N. Y." 216 pages, by M. Francis Dowley and published in 1869 by T. Farrell & Son, NY. The title page gives this outline of the book's content, in part: Containing a full and accurate account of the various changes through which the organization has passed since…1847 to the present; also biographical sketches of General Butterfield, Ward and Barlow…as well as the names and rank of several hundred members of the 'Twelfth' who rose to distinction during the war…". Ex-Commandery of the State of Illinois Mollus collection with their bookplate affixed to front inside cover. Original burgundy binding with slight edge wear and bumping. Loose spine, else VG.
