Civil War autobiography entitled: "Nuggets of Experience, Narratives of the Sixties and Other Days, with Graphic Descriptions of Thrilling Personal Adventures. Late of the Eighth New York Heavy Artillery. Veteran of the Second Corps. Twenty-Eight Years a Member of the Grand Army of the Republic." 257 pages by Dr. Nelson Armstrong and published in 1906 by Times-Mirror P. and B. House. This book chronicles Armstrong's entire life, but as one would expect he deals mainly with his Civil War career including his harrowing adventures during Grant's Overland campaign and during the Sheridan's 1864 Valley campaign. Ex-Commandery of the State of Illinois Mollus collection with their bookplate affixed to front inside cover. Original blue binding with very minor wear and bumping. Detached portrait page otherwise a nice tight binding, else VG.
