Albumen photograph, 11" x 14" with matt, ca. late 1890's, Pennsylvania. The eleven officers posing here each have 2nd Pennsylvania regimental insignia on their hats and are uniformed in fatigue blouses. It is quite likely that they have been mobilized for Spanish-American War service. A lieutenant, three captains and a major are clearly evident in this group. All of the men cradle infantry swords with the exception of the major, who has a light cavalry saber in tow. This is an exceptionally clear image. Wear and minor paper loss to the matt, else Fine condition.
