S.F. Adams front imprint. Rare stereoview of President Grant and his family from the famed Ed Burchard stereoview collection. On the verso in pen it states that the image was taken on August 27, 1869 at the "Tip Top House, MT. Wash., N.H.". With the President, in the first row, is John E. Lyons, President of the Boston, Concord, and Montreal Rail Road. To Grant's right is Mrs. Grant and George G. Fogg, One of Grant's son's is seated at his left elbow, with one of Grant's daughters directly in front of him. A truly scarce Presidential image, excellent.
