This 48-star printed American flag measures 14-1/4” on the hoist and 22" on the fly. A remarkable piece of black Americana, the flag is stenciled with the silhouette of a buffalo and identification reading "NAT. I. W. VETERANS / ABRAHAM LINCOLN / CAMP NO. 30 / SAN ANTONIO, TX." Fine condition with only light toning. The flag comes from descendents of Private Thomas Dilwood, Co. "B", 10th U. S. Cavalry. Dilwood was commander of the all-black National Indian War Veterans Camp #30, which was organized in 1929.
