A nice war-date CDV showing the Union fleet, including the USS Monitor, attacking Fort Darling on Drewry's Bluff on May 15, 1862. Unable to elevate her guns high enough to fire on the fort the Monitor played a negligible role in the fight in which the USS Galena was badly cut up. The first naval MOH was won during the engagement by a seaman onboard the Galena. Also, seen attacking the fort in this CDV are the Aroostook, Port Royal and Naugatuck. Fine.
