“The Connecticut Courant,” July 25, 1804, 4pp., disbound. Nearly the entire newspaper is taken with the Burr-Hamilton duel, each page adorned with thick mourning rules. Of most interest and certainly most informative, is the 12 letter exchange between Aaron Burr, Alexander Hamilton and their seconds in the days that preceded the duel. Also printed is Hamiton’s Last Will, dated July 9, 1804, as a direct consequence of , and only three days before the duel. And, on the last page “Funeral Obesequies,” runs 2-2/3 columns with a woodblock of the casket. VG. This is the most comprehensive Hamilton-Burr newspaper we have seen.
