Then, “The New President” reports on the notification to John Tyler as well as his swearing in as President on April 6th. ... plus, April 10, 1841, also mourning ruled, front page 2-1/2 columns, “The Funeral” provides insightful details of Harrison’s funeral. Then, from an inside page, President John Tyler’s address “Official, To the People of the United States,” upon assuming the office of Presidency. ... plus, April 13, 1841, from an inside page, “Official, To the People of the United States,” President John Tyler recommends a day of fasting and prayer.
