An authentic and complete issue of The Carlton-House Magazine, London, Novemebr 1793, 48pp., disbound, near fine. From the interior is a detailed report of the execution of Maria Antoinette. In part, “That ill fated princess, the Queen of France, suffered death on the 16th of October, by the guillotine, having the preceding day been found guilty of ‘having conspired against and assisted in endeavoring to ruin France ... The execution took place at half past eleven o’clock in the morning ... After the execution, three young persons were observed to dip their handkerchiefs in her blood and were immediately arrested ...”
