Very scarce Confederate newspaper, The Oxford Intelligencer, Mississippi, October 25, 1861, 4pp., disbound, damp staining bottom 1/8 page, else VG. The publisher uses the term “The Southern Confederacy,” just below the title; and in the place information he uses “Oxford, Miss., C.S.A.” There are several war reports, “Latest by Telegraph,” provides a full column of news across the various fronts. “Great Victory” gives the details of the Battle of Leesburg. Then, just exceptionally rare is the Election Ticket for Jefferson Davis and Alexander Stephens.
