Confederate officer's war-date letter by W. H. Brown, Adjutant & Inspector General, Army of Mississippi, Jackson, Mississippi, July 30, 1861, one page, 4to, to Captain W. C. Day, Southern Sentinels, Marion, Mississippi, reading, "The election returns for office of 1st Lieut of your Company, do not show how many votes were polled, or if any opposing candidate received any votes. Forward a corrected return & commission with be agreed. Wm.
