Confederate field printed broadside, 3-1/2" x 10-3/4," fine. Field issued by Maj. Gen. Jos. Wheeler, General Orders No. 7, "Head Quarter's, Wheeler's Cavalry Corps, June 3, 1863." "The earnest attention of all Cavalry is called to the importance of their observing the utmost accuracy in their reports of the movements and strength of the enemy ..." The order then continues with seven points including, "During an advance of the enemy he must at favorable points, be held with sufficient firmness to develop his probable strength - Prisoners should be questioned closely ..." It closes with, "To conclude, Cavalry Officers and Soldiers must always remember that they are the eyes and ears of the General Commanding ..."
