The surgeons having informed him of the nature of his wounds, he stated to said J. This was but a few minutes before his death, but he was at the time of sound and disposing mind and mentality…he wished all his property, real and personal, to be equally divided between his brothers Robert and Benjamin Blanton and his little sister Matilda Blanton - share and share alike…after making these statements he sank rapidly and in a few minutes died…".
