Partially printed document, one page, 4to, Eutaw, Alabama, March 31, 1865, this official Confederate government receipt on behalf of Forrest's Cavalry describes a "worn out" army mule worth $300 being exchanged for a citizen's first-rate animal worth $1,200, the $900 difference applicable to future taxes. Small area of paper loss on right margin, very good condition.
