A good war-date partly-printed Union document being a, 2pp. oblong folio, "Morning Report of the Twenty Ninth regiment of" [Penn. Vols.], Sept. 22, 1861, signed by Brevet Brigadier General JOHN KIDD MURPHY (1796-1876) who was a veteran of the War of 1812. During the Civil War he was colonel of the 29th Penn. Vols. and in the VRC. His occupations included those of police marshall, militia captain and bathhouse proprietor. VG
