No backmark, the subject wears civilian clothing, the image mounted in an album page and identified as Benjamin B. Leonard front and back. The mat has an additional 20th century inscription reading, "West Liberty / Surgeon in Wm Lawrences Company / Civil War." Leonard served three months in the 84th Ohio Volunteers commencing June 10, 1862. Very good condition.
