A great ca. 1865 CDV depicting the Soldiers National Monument which is located in the National Cemetery, Gettysburg. It marks the spot where Lincoln delivered his Gettysburg Address. The cornerstone of the monument was laid on July 4, 1865 and was dedicated in July 1869. Icons representing war, peace, plenty and history surround the base while liberty stands at the tope holding a sword of war and wreath of peace. The 2 3/8" x 4" photograph is near fine with excellent contrast and clarity.
