CDV of Levi Turner, Major, Judge Advocate U.S. Volunteers. Promoted to Colonel by Brevet in March 1865. Turner also collaborated with Lafayette C. Baker (Who captured John Wiles Booth after Lincoln's assassination) on the Turner - Baker papers on subversives in the Civil War. On the mount Turner has inscribed the CDV to his sister: "For my dear Sister". Comes with a copy of a letter written by Turner. Light age, else fine.
