A complete and authentic issue of Harper’s Weekly, March 9, 1861, 16pp., disbound VG. A full front cover engraving of “President Lincoln Hoisting the American Flag with Thirty Four Stars Upon Independence Hall, Philadelphia, February 22, 1861, From Photograph by F.D. Richards, Philadelphia.” There is an acompaning report on the interior. The back page is taken with a four panel cartoon, “The Flight of Abraham” which shows Lincoln’s reaction to the Baltimore plot to assassinate him. Also from the interior, a full page engraving, “ Inauguration of President Jefferson Davis of the Southern Confederacy at Montgomery Alabama, February 18, 1861.”
