Abolition Token, a kneeling, shackled slave surrounded with words, “Am I Not A Women and a Sister”, and on the obverse “United States of America, Liberty 1838.” Note, this has the backwards “N” in the word United, denoting its origin as the American Anti-Slavery Society which contracted an African American named Patrick H. Reason of New York, who in 1835 engraved a kneeling woman based on the Wedgwood figure (the kneeling male).
