A complete and authentic issue of Frank Leslie’s Illustrated April 7, 1877, 16pp., disbound, margin professionally tape re-enforced, else VG. From an interior page, there are two large engravings of Frederick Douglass. The first is a chest-up image. the second shows Black citizens greeting Douglass in his new office. There is a full column report, “Frederick Douglass, United States Marshall for the District of Columbia.”
