IMBODEN, John Daniel (1823-1895) Confederate general, commanded the famous “Imboden Raid” into Northwester Virginia, severing the B&O Railroad. Saved the trains of the Confederate retreat from Gettysburg. A good pre-war partly-printed, 2pp. folio, legal D. S. signed two times, "J. D. Imboden, as Albemarle County, Virginia official, Dec. 11, 1858, being a land claim for the Paris family. Minor archival repairs, else VG.
