War-date Union officer's letter, 2pp. 8vo., written by Capt. Henry A. Wiley, Co. B, 104th New York Vols., "near White Oak Church, Va., June 5, 1863", in part: "I wrote you…while our Regt was in line…to move…we agin pitched our tents…how long we are to remain here I can not tell-it depends altogether on the movements of the Rebs. Should they move up…the Shenandoah Valley…this army will move after them…Hooker is laying pontoons at Fredericksburg…to call the Rebs back if any of them have left…a large Rebel force had passed through Culpeper going in the direction of Gordonsville…".
