B, 104th New York Vols., [n. p., but Elmira, n. d., but late summer 1863], to his brother, in part: "I expect to go to Washington on Monday night…with a detachment of conscripts. If you want to go…come to Elmira…I can pass you with myself over the railroad there…and back with me and will give you a chance to look around good deal in Washington and when we are returning we will go up to Gettysburg and look on the battle field…it will be the last chance you will ever have to go there…we leave on the Williamsport train…I hope you will be able to come. I shall look for you…". VG
