A good war-date Union officer's letter, 3pp. on "Office Chief of Artillery, 20th Corps" letterhead, 8vo, with postal cover, written by staff officer for chief of artillery 20th Corps Lt. William H. Mickle, 134th New York Vols. (future captain of Co. B), "Lookout Valley, May 3rd 1864," in part: "…I will enclose one of my photos taken from the frowning cliff of Old Lookout, but cannot dwell on the beauties of the glorious views one has from that position. I'll do so another time…I have more clothing than is necessary for a move & have lost too much by retaining it here…I am with Genl Hooker on his Staff as Ordnance Officer…" VG
