Captain Abram Lash, Jr., Co. A, 69th Illinois Volunteer Infantry, served between June 14 and October 6, 1862, during which period his company stood guard over Confederate prisoners at Camp Douglas in Chicago. This grouping consists of the following personal items and official documents pertaining to Captain Lash: Brass shield, 4" x 5", engraved "AL" and affixed to a short leather strap, very good…plus; Four (4) GAR items, including a German silver GAR I.D. tag, an Illinois pin, a stamped brass GAR pin, a 1912 memorial day GAR pinback with ribbon, all fine condition…plus; an American Knights Templar Maltese cross with eagle motif, fine…plus; Albumen civilian photograph of a couple identified on the back as "Mr. and Mrs. Abram Lash," 9 ½" x 11 ¾" with mount, very good…plus; 1862 muster roll for Co. A, 69th Illinois Volunteer Infantry, Camp Douglas, listing 88 officers and men, two pages, folio, splits along folds, fair condition…plus; nine (9) partially printed war-date requistion documents, all 8vo, variously seeking clothing, fuel and food stuffs, fine condition… plus; State of Illinois document posthumously confirming Lash's service, one page, 4to, October 4, 1916, fine condition.
