A great 1864 Lincoln reelection newspaper being an original printing of the Bennington Banner, published at Bennington, VT, Nov. 10, 1864, 4pp. large folio, with a finely illustrated printed "LINCOLN & JOHNSON!" reelection announcement, appearing on page two, depicting an American eagle with a ribbon in its beak reading: "VICTORY!! VICTORY!!" over the declaration: 'Let The Eagle Scream!' The articles on this page are decidedly pro-Linclon with the reelection headlines including: "Hip! Hip!! Hurrah!!! Glory! Glory!!…Preservation of the Union Ensured! Triumphant Election of Lincoln and Johnson! They Sweep the Country!…Copperheadism in Its Grave!! The Chicago Platform its Coffin!! Seymour, Vallandigham & Co., are its Pall-Bearers! Jeff. Davis the Principle Mourner! Rejoice!…". Much more like content with a thanks to the voters of Vermont for helping reelection the president. Interestingly, one of the paper's other headlines stories include: "Negroes for The Rebel Army." This article reads, in part: "The Mobile Tribune…in a long article upon the subject of conscripting the negroes or military service says…". Some archival repair, else VG
