A rare ca. 1864 "Copperhead" lapel badge and/or token cut from the center of an early American large cent penny. The "Copperhead" movement were mostly disenfranchised Democratic party members who were vocally opposed to Abraham Lincoln's war policies and emancipation. They carried token and worn pins to show solidarity for their principles. Offered here is a small approx. 3/4" token cut from a large cent penny. VG
