A complete and authentic issue of Harper’s Weekly, July 22, 1865, 16pp, disbound, VG. From the interior two facing pages regarding the execution of President Lincoln’s conspirators. The first is a full page horizontal engraving, “Execution of the Conspirators at Washington, July 7, 1865 -[Photographed by Gardner],” shows the four after the drop. The facing page has seven engravings. Three show the execution stages, Clergyman officiating, Adjusting the Rope, and Springing of the Trap. Then, one shows the residence of Mrs. Surrat. The last three show Payne, Harold, and Atzerott. Biographies and execution details are on an interior page.
