Dewey , George (1837-1917) American admiral and Annapolis graduate who directed the 1898 victory over the Spanish fleet in Manila Bay in the Philippines. This crisp cabinet photograph of Admiral George Dewey is remounted to a “George Dewey” signed card which has substantial water damage affecting “George” which is still legible. Circa 1890.
