Group of five original photographs of the U.S. S. Nevada, includes: 8-1/2”x 6-1/2”, “Official United States Navy Photo.” of the U.S. S. Nevada, after being struck at Pearl Harbor. Used by the San Francisco Examiner, per attached press sheet on verso. VG...plus; Four folio sized photographs taken before the war of the U.S.S. Nevada on the water. VG. (5 items) The ‘Nevada’ was the only battleship to get underway during the Pearl Harbor attack, but was hit by one torpedo and several bombs before she beached herself. She returned to action in 1943 and would assist in the Normandy Invasion before going to the Pacific to aid with the invasions of Iwa Jima and Okinawa in 1945.
