Book, “Global Mission” by H.H. Arnold, New York, 1949, 626p. original black cloth boards, inscribed on front free endpaper “To Toppie & Arthur - Hope that you find this book interesting. From one airman to another - ‘Hap’ Arnold El Rancho Feliz Calif. 22 Sept. ‘49.” VG. Hap Arnold became the first General of the Air Force, and was the commander of the United States Army Air Force during the Second Waorld War. This volume is his hisotry of that organization. Sir Arthur Tdder was a veteran of the Royal Flying Corps, and a successful lecturer at Cambridge during the interwar years. He later returned to active service, and was eventually made Chief Air Marshall of the Royal Air Force. He later served as Deputy Commander of SHAEF, and was second in teh command of Allied Forces, answering only to Eisenhower himself.
