A pair of complete and authentic issues of Harper’s Weekly, March 19, 1859 and April 9, 1859, each issue 16pp., disbound, VG. From the March 19, 1859 issue, the front cover has a 1/2 page engraving “Hon. Daniel E. Sickles in Prison at Washington.” On an interior page is the related two column report “The Washington Tradgedy.” ... plus, From the April 9, 1859 issue, the front cover has an engraving “The Hon. Daniel E. Sickles [From a Medallion].” The balance of the page has a “Biographical Sketch of Hon. D.E. Sickles,” which continues for two more columns on the following page. Then from the interior, a full page engraving “The Trial of the Hon. Daniel E. Sickles For the Murder of P. Barton Key ...” On the facing page there are five engravings of those involved including Mrs. Sickles, with surrounding text of the trial.
