E. & H. T. Antony, New York backmark, the engraved portrait here is after an 1848 daguerreotype taken in Providence, Rhode Island. According to the Poe Museum, this image was originally made only four days after Poe's attempted suicide following a rejected marriage proposal. Very good condition.
