Quite large 3 1/2" x 12" political campaign "Grand Marshall Workingmen's Republican Club Of Cook Co." (Chicago) ribbon. Made of heavy velvet material with metal braid used for the lettering and the tassels. Has a large RWB rosette at the top. We have seen very similar "Chief Marshall Cook County" ribbons used during the 1896 Presidential campaign of William McKinley, so it is safe to say this from the 1896 campaign. This ribbon was most probably used at a large McKinley rally or parade as evidenced by it being a "Grand Marshall" ribbon. The piece is in excellent condition save for a small amount of wear at the very bottom. This wonderful campaign piece would make a great centerpiece for a political display.
