Wonderful relic from the 1960 Presidential race. A JFK campaign vest worn at the 1960 Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles, and once owned by political and social activist Abbie Hoffman. The vest, which is made of thick cotton, has the campaign slogan "Kennedy Is The Remedy" in shape of a political button. The vest is in excellent condition with the original tie strings. The vest measures approximately 16" across at its widest point, 23" tall, and the tie strings measure 20" each. A rare Kennedy campaign piece. Comes with letter of provenance from the owner, a family member by marriage, that he was given the vest by Hoffman in 1972. Only a handful of these Kennedy campaign vests are known to exist, and finding an example owned by a 1960's political activist only enhances its appeal.
