Authentic issue of the Philadelphia Inquirer, February 16, 1864, 8pp., disbound, VG. From the front page a ½ column report of the renown Union officers escape from Libby prison. In part, “..states that Colonel Streight with one hundred and ten other officers escaped from prison at Richmond by digging a tunnel.” Then the issue continues with a partial list of these officers, and a second list of officers recaptured.
