BASSET, HENRY British military officer who headed Fort Detroit in the mid-1770's and in such capacity was charged with maintaining peace with the Indians in the area, later likely served with the 10th Foot at Lexington and Concord. Rare manuscript D.S. 1p. folio, [n.p.], Apr. 24, 1768, a return of wages due to the 10th reg. of Foot for a period of two months, boldly signed with rank at conclusion. Very good.
