War-date A.L.S. with integral address leaf, 1p. 8vo., Poughkeepsie, July 10, 1779 to the wife of a colonel. In part: "…Mrs. Deacon is sister to Capt. Gillispy at whose House she may be found. I intended to have forwarderd your Letter by the present messenger had not Mrs. Clinton prevented me by giving it what she conceived a more speedy Conveyance. The Colo. will continue to send his letters for you under Direction to me…" Very good.
