Northern civilian's war-date letter by "T H Rowe," 4pp. on "Death to Traitors" patriotic stationery, octavo, Alden (NY), December 28, 1861, to his friend Charles, reading in part, "…War news is dull. I do not get any til it is so old that it loses all its interest…It is now almost a year since the rebels opened their guns on Sumpter…we shall never succeed (and never ought to) until Slavery is abolished. I say abolish Slavery: that's the cause of the war…" Light browning, very good condition.
